This was taken in the sandhills north of Burwell, NE, during a deer hunting trip in 2009. To me, this photograph conveys the unique isolation of the area. There is something about the vastness of the space that makes a simple item, such as a windmill or a tree, compelling. This shot is a "soft" because of the combination of high ISO (high for my old camera), long zoom, slow shutter speed and no tripod. Even though soft, I've printed it at 12x18 and like the results.
